Previously, Mr. Gilgis served as the senior advisor on Middle East Counterterrorism Policy within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operation & Low-Intensity Conflict during periods of crisis and strategic shift.

Mr. Anthony "Tony" Gilgis began his career in 1989 and has served within the National Intelligence Community. He currently serves as the Principal Consultant on Intelligence Support to Irregular Warfare within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence & Security developing policy, strategy, and doctrine required to support the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. His previous work includes as the senior counterterrorism policy advisor for the Middle East within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operation & Low-Intensity Conflict. Over the course of his career, Mr. Gilgis conducted operational deployments in support of strategic objectives and tactical operations around the globe. This experience has given Tony a unique and unparalleled understanding of the Special Operations community, the intelligence support required for these unique missions, and the intricacies of generating policy to guide and shape strategic decisions.
Described as an innovative and adaptive leader with expert experience in diplomacy, national security, research and analysis, and public speaking, Mr. Gilgis has proven superior communications skills versed in delivering written and verbal presentations to executive and international audiences. He has expertly served as mentor, liaison, and project lead for U.S. and foreign stakeholders from military, law enforcement, national security, commercial/industrial, and other demographics at strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
Mr. Gilgis earned his MA in Diplomacy from Norwich University in 2015 with a focus on international terrorism.
